Steps for Soft-Boiled Eggs
The goal is to get the egg yolk to have a molasses-like consistency; not to have the yolk become hard-boiled or too runny. And, to make this step easier, we recommend using a silicone cooking mesh.
- Bring eggs close to room temperature. (This step is important because it will help prevent them from cracking when you put them into the boiling water.)
- Bring water to boil.
- Carefully place the eggs into the water and cook for 6 1/2 minutes.
- Drain the hot water and replace with cool water.
- Once the eggs are cool, peel the shell off. Leave the soft-boiled eggs whole and reserve for the Timpano.
